Through the Jewish Energy Covenant Campaign, the Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life is working on a number of new initiatives to develop Jewish environmental programming throughout the calendar year. We need your help to make these programs come to fruition. Will you contribute $25 now to help us succeed? Here's what we're up to: Rabbis Converge on Programming for Parshat Noach and High Holidays. On August 9th, COEJL will host four rabbinic leaders from all four of the major Jewish religious streams: Orthodox, Reconstructionist, Conservative and Reform, in a conference call to discuss environmental program ideas for parshat Noach and the coming high holidays. Our hope is to engage communities on Jewish environmental and energy issues. Rabbinic leaders are invited to join in the call to express their ideas, success stories and experiences. For those rabbinic leaders who would like to attend the call, please contact COEJL's Program Director, David Marks: dmarks@coejl.org Getting the Word Out: Just this week we issued a statement on the Clean Energy Jobs and Oil Accountability Act. Every week we post new information about energy policy, the oil spill and Jewish community work on the environment on our blog To Till and to Tend. For this week's posting, go to "Seeing the Light Beyond Petroleum." Tune in to what the community is saying by becoming a friend on our Facebook® page COEJL Talks. Your contribution of $25 or more will help us expand on these areas and other programming, connecting you to the growing Jewish environmental movement. Contribute and be Heard: You have an opportunity to be heard and to help us be a Jewish voice on environmental affairs. Contribute to COEJL now and together we can follow the latest issues from a Jewish perspective. Best regards, -- The COEJL Team
